Rebelette Basketball



Coach Doyle Wolverton with his many accomplishments is now "the winningist coach" of all time in the state of Mississippi with over 1000 wins.  Coach Wolverton along with being named Coach of the Year on numerous occasions has also been All-Star Coach and in 1998-99 was named Coach of the Year in the State of Mississippi for public as well as private schools.

The Leake Academy girls basketball program began in 1970 and is now the "winningest program in the MPSA with 1,290  victories and only  209 losses," 1,166 wins and 176 losses of which have been with Coach Doyle  Wolverton. The Rebelettes have also won 7 North Half Championships under Coach
Wolverton. The Rebelettes have been crowned District Champions 25 times, Regional Champions 7 times, State Champions 14 times and Overall Champions 5 times.

Coach Wolverton won his 600th Junior High game on January 8, 2008, against Manchester. The Junior High record is now 631 wins and 59 losses.
