The District Spelling Bee was held on February 18th at Canaan Baptist Church in Columbus and was sponsored by Immanuel Center for Christian Education. The contestants included Chandler Mathis (8th grade), MacKenzie Johnson (6th grade), Hailey Jamison (5th grade), and Joshua Mitchell (4th grade). Hailey Jaminson placed as 4th alternate in her division. MacKenzie Johnson placed 3rd in her division and will go on to compete in the State Spelling Bee.
