Headmaster Jerry Crowe presents American Legion Comander Mitchell Sprayberry $361.00 that Leake Academy students raised to help pay for the Mr. Van Barfoot Monument.  This monument will be erected on the south end of the Leake County courthouse to honor the Edinburg native.  He is one of 15 WWII Medal of Honor recipients from Mississippi and the only one from Leake County. The monument will be dedicated on November 11, 2008--eleven minutes before 11:00 A.M. Special thanks to all Leake Academy students and staff that helped with this project.
