At 9:00 on the morning of May 1, 2008, Leake Academy 5th Graders participated in their D.A.R.E. Graduatiom.  Officer Michael Harper presented their graduation cer tificates as Teacher Gail Tucker announced their names.Special recognition was given to Will Phillips, Taylor Watkins, and Julia Weber (best overall) for writing the three best essays about the D.A.R.E. program.  These students' essays reinforced the values and strategies that Officer Harper has taught to them in making good decisions regarding the use of illegal drugs and the prevention of violence.  Officer Harper expressed his sincere appreciaton to Mr. Crowe and the Leake Academy Faculty.  He stated that this year's graduating class was his first D.A.R.E. class to teach at Leake Academy since seven years ago.  We appriciate Sheriff Waggoner and the Leake County Sheriff's Department and Officer Harper for their hard work and generosity to our students and look forward to many more successful years of working with them and the D.A.R.E. program.
