MS History Parade
The ninth grade girls Mississippi history class held a Mississippi Parade in the elementary hall on Monday, May 7, 2007. The class was divided into three groups, and each group designed a float to represent that particular aspect of Mississippi. Float one was Mississippi history of the Antebellum and Pre-Civil War Era. Float two was of the Mississippi Culture, including many famous musicians, authors, and celebrities. Float three was of Mississippi's economy, including live fish that represented Mississippi as the catfish of the world, the pine belt, the I-59 technology corridor, and leading businesses and industries, including a replica of the Nissan Plant. The parade was well received by all who attended and the studetns gained a greater understanding of the many aspects of Mississippi Society,
