The Leake Academy baseball team seems promising this year. With a young selection of players, LA's baseball team is off to a good start. This year we have many fast pitchers such as the infamous Allen Johnson who can pitch 87-89 mph. Justin Moore and Trent Travis are also some of the next hardest throwing pitchers on the team. The rest of the infield looks strong up the middle between the second base and shortstop positions. Sadly, we are losing some of our best assets such as senior Justin Sturdivant who is a four-year starter and is a good solid player; but Leake has a number of young players who are destined to be great players in the future.
