Coach Phil Shepard is in his eighteenth season here at Leake Academy. In twenty-four years of coaching, he has been named District Coach of the Year eleven times and has been elected to serve as All-Star coach six times. Coach Shepard is the son of Mrs. June Shepard and the late Joe F. Shepard. He is married to the former Dot Harris. They are the parents of two children, Bobby and B.J.
L.A. is returning 11 lettermen from last year's 28-6 squad. The seniors include Corey Burnes, Matthew Wilkerson, Austin Agent, Robbie Alford, and Jeffrey Gunn. Returning juniors are Drew Duncan, Trevor Langston, Kyle Moore, Coleman Howard, Jon Fulton, Brantley Chamblee, and Casey Burnes. Newcomers will be senior Jordan Gilmer, sophomores Adam Byrd, David Shrock, Jake Chandler, and freshman Will McBeth.
